Commercial HVac/mechanical project manager

Full Job Description: 

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Commercial HVAC/Mechanical Project Manager to lead the successful planning, execution, and delivery of mechanical construction projects, including ductwork, equipment, piping, and other mechanical systems for commercial buildings. This role requires strong technical knowledge, project leadership, and coordination skills to ensure that all projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of mechanical construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.
• Collaborate with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and internal temas to develop project scopes, budgets, and timelines.
• Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Create and manage project schedules, budgets, material procurement, and labor allocation.
• Coordinate and lead project meetings, including progress updates, change management, and conflict resolution.​​​
• Work with the Field Supervisor to monitor on-site work to ensure compliance with design specifications, building codes, and safety standards.
  
• Track project costs, prepare change orders, and ensure timely and accurate billing.
  
• Oversee subcontractor performance and ensure timely delivery of milestones.
  
• Manage communication and documentation related to RFIs, submittals, and project closeout
• Report project progress and key metrics to senior management and stakeholders.
• Utilize construction software (ProCore & Viewpoint Team) to ensure the field installers have all the project information that they may need.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies proactively.
• Create Monthly job billing documents and lean waivers.
• Work hand in hand with our financial department to ensure proper billings are submitted.

Environment & Qualifications:

• Mostly office work with some visits to construction sites/meetings with the Director of Operations and/or the Field Supervisor.
• Ability to walk, stand, and navigate across construction zones.
• HVAC project management experience in commercial and/or industrial preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems, design principles, and construction processes.
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Trimble, Excel) and project management tools. (e.g., ProCore)
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to communicate within an office setting.

Schedule: 

• 8-9 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
